Shari:
We are excited you are here. We invite you to engage with us in the exploration of the beauty, the wonder, the mystery, the contradictions, the irony and the horror of life that art reveals so well. Ruth and I started visiting virtual art exhibits during the Pandemic as a way of staying connected with each other and sustain our mutual interest in art and adventure.
Our Zoom visits grew from exploring museums to intentionally finding new artists to finally curating our own experiences. As we spent more time with art, we realized we were really spending more time getting to know ourselves, each other, and the world around us. Art challenged us on many levels, and we discussed those challenges and associations, played with them, and explored them further.
We benefitted from the experience so much, we decided we had to share it. We started this blog to do just that.
Ruth:
We hope you have as much fun and stimulating stretch as we have as we started and sustained our weekly conversations about art four years ago. Not only did we uncover how much we understood through our interactions, we also got surprising insights as we spontaneously expressed how selections related to us and our worlds. As a result, our friendship and confidence in appreciating art deepened and expanded.
The associations and connections we made in our conversations benefited us because they were neither premeditated nor designed to impress. Keys to our ongoing adventure are curiosity, openness and trust with touches of playfulness. Although our collegial and personal friendship of decades helped, I am sure these aspects are not pre-requisites for you. But consistency and continuity in your conversations will be catalysts for your pleasure and growth. Create whatever you want with your own process.
You can read more about our process on our about arting page and more about each of us on our about us page.
